Item # 04016720P58
Intermediate 1-2 Hours
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • 2 yds 54" Home Dec fabric
  • Two tension rods to fit length of the underside of the table
  • Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
  • Basic sewing supplies
  • Sewing machine with walking foot
  • Serger optional
  • Iron & pressing surface

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Set up the sewing machine with the walking foot.
  2. Measure the height of the table that will cover the dog crate (usually about 29"). Cut the length of the two curtains the height of the table plus 4". Turn under the side edges of the curtains and sew a narrow hem.
  3. Overcast the top and bottom raw edges of the curtains with the serger or an overcast stitch on the sewing machine.
  4. Turn under the top edge of the curtains 2" and sew to form a casing for the tension rod. Turn under the bottom edge 3" and check to see if this length will clear the floor when installed under the table. Sew to form the hem.
  5. Run the tension rods through the casings on each curtain then install them between the legs under the table.

JOANN Hacks:
  • Thicker Home Dec fabric will be stiff and not drape as well as a more pliable fabric.
  • Use a fabric that washes well.
