Ice-Cream Applique Apron

  • Siser® Weeder
  • Adult Apron
  • Pellon® 40 Midweight Stabilizer
  • 8" Fiskars Multi-Purpose Straight Scissors
  • 9" x 9" Cricut EasyPress™ or Iron & Ironing Board
  • 24 Pkg 10"x 15" Wilton Candy Melt Parchment Sheets or other Cover Sheet
  • Brother SE1950 Sewing and Embroidery Machine
  • Coats & Clark Embroidery Thread

    1. Hoop cut away stabilizer and apron top in embroidery hoop. Fold down edge of pocket and pin so that it is out of the way of the stitching design. Center design above apron pocket.
    2. Stitch step 1. This step will be a placement stitch for ice cream topping. Remove clear carrier backing from Siser Glitter or StripFlock Pro and place over Step 1 placement stitches.
    3. Stitch step 2. This step will stitch and hold down HTV. Tear or cut away excess vinyl from design.
    4. Stitch step 3. This step will be a placement stitch for the top scoop of ice cream. Remove clear carrier from Siser Glitter or StripFlock Pro and place over Step 3 placement stitches.
    5. Stitch step 4. This step will stitch and hold down HTV. Tear or cut away excess vinyl from design.
    6. Stich step 5. This step will be a placement stitch for a second scoop of ice cream. Remove clear carrier from Siser Glitter or StripFlock Pro and place over Step 5 placement stitches.
    7. Stitch step 6. This step will stitch and hold down HTV. Tear or cut away excess vinyl from design.
    8. Stitch steps 7 - 9. These steps will insert satin stitch. You may want to change thread colors accordingly.
    9. Stitch step 10. This step will be a placement stitch for the cherry. Remove the clear carrier from Siser Glitter or StripFlock Pro and place over Step 10 placement stitches.
    10. Stitch step 11. This step will stitch and hold down HTV. Tear or cut away excess vinyl from design.
    11. Stitch step 12. This step will stitch the stem of the cherry.
    12. Stitch step 13. This step will stitch the satin of the cherry.
    13. Any vinyl that was not torn or cut prior to stitching will easily tear after satin stitch has been completed. Remove apron from hoop.
    14. Cut Glitter HTV with the carrier side down and MIRROR your image.
    15. Weed away excess vinyl.
    16. Lay text design under embroidered ice-cream scoop and cover with parchment paper or other cover sheet and press with the Cricut EasyPress at 350 with medium force for 15-20 seconds. Remove clear carrier.
