SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Cotton duck fabric for apron
- Contrasting duck fabric for ties
- Contrasting fabric for pockets
- Adjustable slide buckle
- Basic sewing supplies
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut one piece of fabric for apron bottom 29 1/2" W x 21" L
- Cut one piece of fabric for apron top 14 1/2" W x 12" L
- Fold apron top in half to mark center front at 6". Mark 5 1/4" from center front on both sides of top of apron. Cut diagonally from bottom corner to 5 1/4" mark to create a diagonal piece for the apron top.
- Finish edges on all sides of apron top by turning under 1/4" then 1/2" and topstitching to finish edges.
- Finish apron bottom edges by turning under 1/4" and then 1/2" and topstitching to finish edges.
- Center apron top along top of apron bottom right sides together and stitch together. Fold up apron top and topstitch along bottom edge.
- Make side ties by cutting 2 pieces of contrasting fabric 2 1/2" W x 48" L. Fold in half right sides together and sew 1/4" seam. Turn right side out and press. Sew to top sides of apron bottom, reinforce stitching.
- Make tie for neck by cutting 1 piece of contrasting fabric 2 1/2" W x 32" L. Fold in half right sides together and sew 1/4" seam. Turn right side out and press. Sew tie to one side of the apron top. Make a 1" buttonhole on the opposite side of apron top to loop tie through. Attach slide buckle to neck tie and thread tie through button hole, adjusting length of neck tie to desired length.
- Cut 2 rectangles 11" x 9" for pockets out of contrasting fabric. Cut diagonally on upper right of pocket to make desired pocket shape.
- Pin pockets to bottom apron 2" from center front and 3 1/2" from bottom hem. Topstitch around pocket leaving diagonal side open for pocket._x000B__x000B__x000B_
