- The easy convenience buttons are located right by the LCD screen. Use the reverse button for reinforcing seams and the programmable thread trimmer cuts the top and bobbin thread in an instant. There is also a locking stitch button and needle up/down button.
- Easy reverse button: The reverse button allows you to easily backstitch for locking seams. With the tip of your finger, this conveniently located button can also be used to stop a stitch pattern before its completion.
- Locking stitch button: The locking stitch button ties off the end of the thread. No need to backstitch to lock a seam. This is ideal for securing seams on delicate fabrics or when using decorative stitches.
- Easy threading with one-hand needle threader: Thread the machine up to the needle and then let the built-in needle threader take over to get the thread through the eye of the needle.
- Drop feed: Lowering the feed dogs will drop them below the needle plate. When you sew, the feed dogs will not be used. This technique is used for free motion sewing. The feed dogs will no longer pull the fabric in precise increments. When using free motion, you control the speed and the fabric direction.

Memory craft 6650
Ordered online on Monday( out of stock at my local store) arrived on Thursday. Love, love, love this machine. Still a lot to learn but finished my first quilt on this machine and love the performance. Especially like that I can wind the bobbin without retreading machine.

This Machine is the Bomb!
I LOVE this machine. It's quiet, runs smoothly, and does not bounce all over the counter like my Singer. Works perfectly and love the large throat for quilting!

Not good for free motion quilting, cannot return product once the box is opened
My biggest frustration here is that the return policy shown on this product is misleading. The excerpt on the sales page claims that most products can be returned. It is only when you click through to the detailed return policy that you read that for corded electronics, you cannot return items after the box has been opened.
That means that if, like I did, you try out this machine and find that it does not work well for free motion quilting, you cannot return it to Joann.
This machine has a top loading bobbin, and I have found that on my machine the bobbin case "jumps" out of its required position very easily when free motion quilting. This causes an emergency stop and generally causes the needle to strike the bobbin case (which is now in the wrong position). If this occurs several times, the timing of the machine is likely to go out of alignment and you may require service to get stitching to work at all.
The folks at Janome provide support for online purchases through mass retailers like Joann Fabrics. I've find Janome support to be very friendly and helpful, and I can ship the machine for service. I'll be without the machine for up to three weeks, maybe more, and if I need this again in the warrantee period, I will have to pay for shipping.
I feel that the main problem here is that the return limitations should be spelled out up from MUCH more clearly so that customers understand that the return options are incredibly limited for this purchase, especially given the price of this item.

Worth every penny!
This is my dream machine! I don’t know that I will ever use all of the fancy features but it’s quiet, heavy and beautiful. The arm space is a dream for quilters.

1/4” foot
This machine does not come with a 1/4” foot! As much as I paid for it you would think that would be included! Everything else I love.

Material pulled into needle plate
Had to return machine twice because material would get pulled down into the machine when sewing. Really liked the machine but couldn’t handle trying too pull material back out of the machine.

Great!
Love it so far. Very smooth, powerful and quiet compared to my old machine. Has a huge work area which will be so helpful for quilting. Does not come with a walking foot, had to oder that elsewhere.
