    • Top loading full rotary hook bobbin: The advantage of easy drop-in, top load bobbins is that you can readily see how much thread is left on the bobbin through the window. You do not have to remove the bobbin case to insert a new bobbin and you do not have to remove the accessory tray from the free arm to change bobbins. Drop-in bobbin sewing machines also have full rotary metal hooks which move in one direction, run quieter and require less lubrication than underneath oscillating shuttle hook and removable bobbin case systems
    • Free arm: The removable storage compartment turns this machine into a free arm. It is great for sewing small openings like a sleeve or hemming a pair of pants.
    • Auto declutch bobbin winder: You’ll never have to worry about over winding bobbins with this auto declutch bobbin winder that will stop automatically when it is full.
    • Drop feed: Lowering the feed dogs will drop them below the needle plate. When you sew, the feed dogs will not be used. This technique is used for free motion sewing. The feed dogs will no longer pull the fabric in precise increments. When using free motion, you control the speed and the fabric direction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I gave one star because it sews a pretty straight stitch, and is lightweight. Other than that, not worth buying! Makes horrible clonking noise when stitching over a seam, bobbin thread loops around and gets tangled up easily, and the feed dogs chew up the fabric pieces unless I set the fabric up over them every time. No strip piecing ever! I got it for travel machine due to the lightweight. Not worth it. Tried to return it to Joann’s and since I had actually opened the box to sew and check it out, they wouldn’t take it!!!! Got a runaround with Janome and Joann’s to no avail. Will never buy any electronics from Joann’s ever again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Alterations I have been using this machine for 2 months, taking in about 12 items from shirts to jeans as well as shortening suit jacket sleeves. No problems, which is good because the warranty states "25 years if bought from authorized dealer " , which retail stores are not. So no warranty if bought from Joanne Fabrics, but the price is good. Machine is lightweight, replaced an old singer that was installed in cabinet, and does move around a little with sewing. Can't install into cabinet like the singer because no hole in bottom of machine for cabinet clamp to hook into, so just leaving it on top and covering to keep dust off of it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Basic Machine This machine is extremely basic, great for sewing through two pieces of cotton, but THATS IT!!! Anything more and this horrible stripping/grinding sound happens. I am a quilter and two piece of cotton, and cotton batting are a struggle for this little guy!
