Row 1: Sc in 5th ch from hook (4 skipped ch count as 1 base ch, hdc, ch 1), *ch 3, sk next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to last 2 ch, ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in last ch - you will have 11 sc, 10 ch-3 sps, 2 ch-1 sps, and 2 hdc.
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), turn, dc in next ch-1 sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp; rep from * to beg ch-sp, ch 3, 2 dc in beg ch-sp - Five 3-dc groups, 5 sc, 4 dc, and 11 ch-3 sps.
Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as hdc, ch 1), turn, sc in next ch-3 sp, *ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp; rep from * across, ch 1, hdc in top of beg ch-3 - 11 sc, 10 ch-3 sps, 2 ch-1 sps, and 2 hdc.
Rep Rows 2 and 3 until piece measures about 50" from beg, end with a Row 2 as the last row you work.
