SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Cotton fabric
  • Medium-weight interfacing
  • 1" Key fob hardware
  • Iron
  • Straight pins
  • Sewing machine and matching thread

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Cut two 2"x 6 1/2" pieces of cotton fabric.

  2. Cut two 2"x 6 1/2" pieces of medium-weight interfacing.

  3. Apply interfacing to the wrong side of the cotton fabric, following the interfacing instructions.

  4. Fold one short edge of one of the pieces to the wrong side 1/4" and press with an iron; repeat for the second piece.

  5. Place pieces right sides together, matching folded edges, and pin.

  6. Sew around long edges and the non-folded short edge with 1/4" seam allowance.

  7. Use scissors to clip the corners in the seam allowance on the sewn short edge, and trim the bulk a little in the seam allowance of the open folded edge.

  8. Pull right-side out.

  9. Topstitch across the sewn short edge about 1/4".

  10. Topstitch across the open, folded-in short edge (This will be mostly covered by the key fob; the corners are mainly what will show).

  11. Fold the sewn short edge up 2" and press with an iron. Secure with a straight pin or two and sew up both the long sides.

  12. Attach 1" key fob to the top short edge, following the package instructions.
