DIRECTIONS:

To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.

MARBLE PAPER:
  1. Spread shaving cream to the bottom of the baking dish about 1" thick.
  2. Add drops of food coloring around the shaving cream, the more drops added the darker the color will be so experiment with how many drops you use to get the color you want. Swirl the food coloring into the shaving cream with a popsicle stick, pencil or end of a utensil.
  3. Once you have the food coloring swirled into the shaving cream lay the paper flat onto the design and press lightly with your hand running it across the paper to make sure it is all covered evenly.
  4. Remove the paper from the tray and place on a cookie sheet. Scrap off the shaving cream with a spatula to reveal the marble design. Set aside to dry.
  5. You can reuse the shaving cream multiple times and add the scraped off foam back into the dish to use again. Add more white one the colors get too over saturated.

CANDLES:
  1. Place the marbled pieces face down on your cutting mat, with a pencil, mark every half inch across the 8 1/2" end of the paper until you get to 6 1/2" (13 marks). Repeat at the other side of the paper. Place your ruler between each set of marks connecting them and run your Xacto blade down the line upside down to create a score line. *You DO NOT want to use the sharp side of the blade but the blunt side.
  2. Once you have the first 12 lines scored flip your X-acto blade over and cut the 13th line to remove the excess 2" of paper. This will leave you with a piece of paper 6 1/2" by 11" with scored lines every half inch.
  3. Cut the paper in half so you have 2 pieces of paper 6 1/2" by 5 1/2" in size. Each piece of 6 1/2" by 5 1/2" piece will be a candle on the menorah. You will need 8 of these. For the ninth candle (in the center) cut one piece of paper 6 1/2" by 6 1/2".
  4. Fold the paper along the scores folding back and forth to create pleats. Form the candle into a Star of David overlapping the last flap.
  5. Apply a line of double-sided tape or using a glue stick, apply a line of glue down the edge of the last fold and secure in place. Repeat for all 9 candles.
  6. With the excess 2" strips that were cut away when making the candles draw on the provided star template. Cut out and fold down the flaps. Using glue on the tabs affix the star inside the candle end to help hold the candles shape. To help with pressing the tabs in place, add the end onto the candle then flip the candle over so the capped end is down on the table. Place a pencil into the other end of the candle and hold it against the tab, press on the outside with your finger to secure the tab in place. Repeat for all 9 candles, set the candles aside to dry.
  7. Cut out the flame shapes from gold metallic, glitter or shiny paper. Mix them up for interest. You will need 2 flame shapes per candle, 18 total. Cut 9 pieces of gold chenille stem 4" long. Glue two flame pieces wrong ends together with a chenille stem end between them. Repeat for each flame. These will be placed into the hole on top of the candle when each candle needs lit.

MENORAH:
  1. Cut a piece of foam core 4" wide x 28" long. Cover the foam core with silver paper or silver paint.
  2. Cut 9 strips of silver paper 1 1/2" wide and 8" long. Connect both ends of the strips to make a circle.
  3. Glue 9 paper circles along the piece of foam core spacing them evenly using hot glue.
  4. Add each candle into the cups. Light each candle by placing the flame into the hole at the top of each candle.
