DIRECTIONS:

1. Decorate wooden dowels with paint, glitter or shimmery chenille stems. Wrap stems two thirds of the way up the dowel.
2. Cut 12" ribbon strips, tie ribbon at one end onto the other one third of the dowel. Tie in the order of red, white and blue for a traditional flag look or mix altogether.
3. String together pony beads onto the bottom of the ribbon pieces or on string and attach randomly to dowel rod.
4. Twist chenille stems around dowel and then gently pull off to make a swirl like a firework. Twist to the top of the dowel.
