DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.NOTE: Seam allowances are all 1/4"
- Cut out two bills from fabric & very heavy iron-on interfacing
- Cut two 2.5" x 18" as visor band
- Cut one interfacing at 2.5" x 18" to face band
- Cut four 3.75" x 1.5" tab pieces
- Cut 3" of Velcro
- Iron the interfacing onto the two pieces of visor fabric & one of the bands.
- Take 2 tab pieces and sew around 3 edges. Clip the corners & turn right-side out. Repeat with other 2 tabs.
- Sew Velcro pieces onto the tabs near the sewn edge & sew around the whole rectangle. This will leave the seam allowance of the tab free to be put into the band.
- Sew the bill pieces together around the rounded side, good sides facing each other. Clip triangles out of the seam allowance.
- Flip right-side out & press. Top-stitch 1/4" in around the edge.
- Sandwich the unsewn side of the bill between the long sides of the band, lining the centers up.
- Sew the band together from end to end, catching the bill.
- Line the Velcro tabs up on the short ends of the band, one facing up & one facing down.
- Sew the short ends and the open long end as far in as you can before you get to the bill.
- Clip the corners off then flip the band ends right-side out.
- Fold & press the seam allowance in at the top of the band. Top stitch around the edges of the band.
JOANN HACKS:
- Sewing the very curved bill into the band is easier if you start from the center & sew to the end, then do the opposite side.
