Knit Colorblock Pom Pom Hat

Intermediate 3-5 Hours
SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
  • US Size 15 circular needle (10mm)/ 16" diameter
  • K+C Donuts Yarn, 1 skein each: Mustard & Black Cream Multi (or any super bulky yarn #6)
  • Clover Pom Pom Maker in extra large
  • Stitch marker

DIRECTIONS:
  1. Cast on 38 stitches in Color 1 (Back Cream Multi) and join to work in the round. Add stitch maker to mark beginning of each round.
  2. K1, P1 for 5 rows
  3. K 5 rows
  4. Cut color 1
  5. Connect color 2 (Mustard)
  6. Knit 8 rows
  7. Decrease Round: K4, K2 together*
  8. repeat* until 2 stitches remain, K2
  9. Knit 2 rows
  10. Decrease Round 2: K2, K2 together
  11. K1 row
  12. Decrease Round 3: K1, K2together
  13. Cut color 2, leaving about 12 inches of yarn
  14. Thread yarn through the final stitches and pull to tighten crown of hat
  15. Cut yarn
  16. Weave in ends

  17. For Pom Pom:
  18. Use Clover Pom Pom Maker in Extra Large to make a pom pom.
  19. Leave some extra yarn to attach pom pom to crown of hat.
