Knitted Palm Leaf

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Red Heart® Super Saver® - Paddy Green (1 skein)
• Size 5 circular knitting needles
• Yarn needle

DIRECTIONS:

CO 37 stitches
Knit 5 rows in garter stitch.
On next row: BO 17, K3, BO 17, break yarn.
Join yarn and work 3 active stitches in garter stitch for three rows. Break yarn.
CO 19, K3, CO 19
Work 3 rows in garter stitch.
BO 19, K3, BO 19. Break yarn.
Join yarn and work 3 active stitches in garter stitch for three rows. Break yarn.
CO 21, K3, CO 21
Work 3 rows in garter stitch.
BO 21, K3, BO 21. Break yarn.
CO 23, K3, CO 23
Work 3 rows in garter stitch.
BO 23, K3, BO 23. Break yarn.
CO 25, K3, CO 25
Work 3 rows in garter stitch
BO 25, K3, BO 25. Break yarn.
CO 23, K3, CO 23
Work 3 rows in garter stitch.
BO 23, K3, BO 23
Repeat rows 18-20 5 more times.
Knit last 3 center stitches until length of other leaves is reached. BO 3 stitches.
Pick up and knit three stitches at top center of leaf. Knit I-cord for 4" and BO.
Weave in all ends. Steam block leaf into finished shape. Be careful not to place iron directly onto acrylic yarn.
