DO NOT USE FOR ALCOHOL INK EVEN IF TOLD IT'S SAFE
I was assured by several artists that this would be perfect for alcohol ink paintings. I even went out of my way to import this from the US just t use it. Absolutely not. If you see anyone promising this, tell them that I have ruined at least 4 paintings trying various ways to make this work. On the rare occasion it doesn't run the ink, it is a magnet for absolutely every single piece of lint and dust you have in your entire house-- even if you do it in a safe box that's locked away immediately. DO NOT USE FOR ALCOHOL INK.

Krylon Kamar Varnish Spray Protectant - The Perfect Sealant
I have used no fewer than a dozen different products to seal my paintings once finished.
I had finished a painting that was created using acrylic paint, as well as oil pastels. I have many sprays and brush on protectants that I considered to seal my newly finished work. From all indications, none of my products were going to be compatible with acrylic paint, and oil pastels. In theory, one should not mix the two, as oil and water do not mix. By and large, a rule to be followed, though oil pastels applied on top of acrylic paint has never caused me any problems. I contacted my local art supply store, where the owner recommended the Krylon Kamar Varnish spray.
I used the satin sheen version of the Krylon spray, and the project turned out perfectly. I am partial to a matte finish, but the satin brought out the colors most brilliantly! I am going to purchase the matte version of this product soon, as Krylon products have always served me well.
I have since used the Krylon Kamar Satin spray on six different paintings, and would highly recommend this product!
One additional note: Always spray this, or any spray varnish in an outdoor setting, mainly out of health concerns.

Amazing sheen
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this over an oil painting on canvas. It worked really well. I let the paint dry for 3 days and applied two coats of the varnish. I sprayed it outside because I was unsure of how strong the smell would be. It was not too bad, but I was still glad that I did it outside. The Kamar Varnish did not take too long to dry and it also did not disturb the colors too much on my painting. It just gave it a nice seal with a shiny top coat.

Looks great & easy to use

Great finish
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this product on some oil paintings that I’m working on. The final touch with the varnish made it a nice finish. The quality of the painting was from the varnishing finish made it come to life. I would recommend this product to anyone else who is looking for a good varnish.
