SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Cardstock Sheets, Varying Colors or Prints (3 for each Take Out Bag)
- ZIG Memory System 2-Way Glue Stick
- Cricut® Machine
- Green Mat
- Decorative Thin Ribbon or Thin Natural Jute
DIRECTIONS:
- Download the Leftover Paper Bag svg file and upload it in Design space.
- You will be making 5 separate pieces for each folded box. These can each be a separate color, or all the same, adjust as desired in design space.
- Convert dashed lines to be scoring lines, or score along these areas by hand once cut.
- Cut all pieces out of cardstock using your Cricut machine.
- Once you have all the pieces cut out it is time to assemble them into a box.
- Fold all the pieces on the scored lines so they will easily hold together when glued.
- Start with one of the sides and glue it to the back piece of the box using your 2-way glue stick. You only must hold them together for a few minutes. Then glue the other side to the back. Lastly glue the front to the others to create the box shape. Fold the bottom flaps inward and attach the bottom bas to make the boxes secure.
- You can use the leftover cardstock pieces to create name tags. In Design space select a simple rectangle shape to be about 2" x 3 1/2" (business card size). Select a small circle shape to go centered at the top of the name tag and select slice from the commands. Cut this out and then attach it to the top of the leftover box using the decorative ribbon.
JOANN HACKS:
- When gluing the pieces together, make sure you place a line of glue close to the edge of the seam to get a clean edge when they fold.
