POT COZY
Note: Do not join at ends of rnds (unless otherwise stated). Cont working in spiral placing marker on fi rst st of rnd for easier counting. With MC, ch 52. Join in rnd with sl st to fi rst ch to form a ring, taking care not to twist chain. 1st rnd: Ch 1. 1 sc in each ch around. 52 sts. 2nd rnd: Skip ch 1. 1 sc in each sc around. 3rd rnd: 1 sc in each sc around. 4th rnd: (1 sc in each of next 16 sc. 2 sc in next sc) twice. 1 sc in each of next 17 sc. 2 sc in next sc. 55 sts. 5th to 7th rnds: 1 sc in each sc around. 8th rnd: 1 sc in each of next 9 sc. (2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 17 sc) twice. 2 sc in next sc. 1 sc in each of next 9 sc. 58 sts. 9th and 10th rnds: 1 sc in each sc around. 11th rnd: 1 sc in each of next 19 sc. 2 sc in next sc. (1 sc in each of next 18 sc. 2 sc in next sc) twice. 61 sts. 12th to 14th rnds: 1 sc in each sc around. 15th rnd: 1 sc in each of next 10 sc. TRIM
With A, ch 72 (or a multiple of 4 that fi ts evenly around opening of Pot Cozy). Join with sl st to fi rst ch, taking care not to twist chain.1st rnd: (RS). Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 2 ch. Ch 3. 1 sc in each of next 2 ch. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to fi rst sc. 72 sc. 2nd rnd: *Skip next 2 sc. (3 dc. Ch 2. 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp. Skip next 2 sc. Sl st in sp between 2nd and 3rd sc. Rep from * around, ending with sl st in last sl st from 1st rnd. Fasten off .
Assembly: With RS facing, align foundation edge of Trim evenly around top edge of Pot Cozy. Join A with sl st to any foundation ch of Trim. With Trim on top of Pot Cozy and working through both thicknesses (foundation ch of Trim and front loop only of last rnd of Pot Cozy), work 1 rnd of sl st evenly around. Join with sl st to fi rst sl st. Fasten off . Sl st will form ridge on RS.
Fringe: Cut strands of A 10" [25.5 cm] long. Taking 4 strands, fold in half and Knot into fringe in fi rst ch-3 sp across bottom edge of Trim. Rep for each ch-3 sp across bottom edge of Trim. Each Fringe has 8 strands Divide each fringe into 2 groups of 4 strands. Taking group of 4 strands from fi rst fringe and group of 4 strands from next fringe, wrap one strand of A around these 8 strands 4 times 1" [2.5 cm] down from each Fringe Knot so that the wrapped yarn is centered. Fasten securely. Rep for each Knotted Fringe around as shown in photo. Trim Fringe evenly. Un-ply each strand of rem yarn in fringe.
