Place your shirt on a flat work surface.
Add the template paper inside the shirt between the layers. You can add a scrap piece of cardboard under as well to make the shirt more rigid. If you're not using the template and free handing your design just add a scrap piece of paper or the cardboard inside the shirt to protect the back from bleed through.
Trace the template design with a black fabric pen. Follow the directions on the pen package.

Adjust the scale of the template by enlarging or shrinking the design when printing to fit your shirt size.
