Only a small amount of C is needed to embroider the features. If you prefer, use scrap yarn in the color of your choice.

DIRECTIONS:

STITCH EXPLANATION:
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over & draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.

TECHNIQUE EXPLANATION:
Magic Ring Wrap yarn around index finger.
Insert hook into ring on finger, yarn over & draw up a loop.
Carefully slip ring from finger & work the sts of Rnd 1 into the ring.

NOTES:
Door Stopper is worked in 4 pieces: Body, 2 Ears, & a Tail.
All pieces are worked in continuous rnds.
Do not join last st of rnds to first st with a slip st.
Do not turn at beg of rnds.
Yarn color is changed while working Body (for face) & while working Ears (for inner ear).
To change yarn color, work last st of old color to last yarn over.
Yarn over with new color & draw through all loops on hook to complete st.
Proceed with new color.
Do not cut old color until instructed.
Carry color not in use along tops of sts of previous rnd & work sts of new color over the carried strand, enclosing it inside the fabric.
To stuff the Door Stopper with pellets, we suggest using a funnel - or rolling a piece of stiff paper or cardboard into a funnel shape.

BODY:
With A, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in ring; do not join, work in continuous rnds (spiral).
Gently but firmly, pull tail to tighten center of ring.
Place marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd.
Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: Work 2 sc in each st around - you will have 16 sc in this rnd.
Rnd 3: * Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st rep from * around - 24 sc.
Rnd 4: * Sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 32 sc.
Rnd 5: * Sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 40 sc.
Rnd 6: * Sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 48 sc.
Rnd 7: * Sc in next 5 sts, 2 sc in next st; rep from * around - 56 sc.

Rnd 28: With A, sc in next 34 sts; with B, sc in next 19 sts; with A, sc in last 35 sts.
Rnd 29: With A, (sc in next 9 sts, sc2tog) 3 times, sc in next st; with B, sc in next 8 sts, sc2tog, sc in next 9 sts; with A, sc2tog, (sc in next 9 sts, sc2tog) 3 times - 80 sc.

Cut B. Work remainder of Body with A only.
Rnd 34: Sc in each st around.

Rnd 37: * Sc in next 5 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 48 sc.
Begin stuffing piece & continue stuffing until piece is complete.
Rnd 38: * Sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 40 sc.
Rnd 39: * Sc in next 2 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 30 sc.
Rnd 40: * Sc in next st, sc2tog; rep from * around - 20 sc.

Rnd 42: * Sc2tog; rep from * around - 5 sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail.
Thread tail through top of sts of last rnd.
Pull to close opening & knot securely.

EARS (make 2):
With B, make a magic ring.
Rnd 1: Work 6 sc in ring; do not join, work in continuous rnds (spiral).
Gently but firmly, pull tail to tighten center of ring.
Place marker in last st made to indicate end of rnd.
Move marker up as each rnd is completed.
Rnd 2: With B, sc in next 2 sts; with A, 2 sc in next st; with B, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st - 8 sc.
Rnd 3: With B, sc in next 2 sts; with A, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; with B, sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st - 10 sc.
Rnd 4: With B, sc in next 2 sts; with A, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st, sc in next st; with B, sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st - 12 sc.
Rnd 5: With B, sc in next st, 2 sc in next st; with A, sc in next 4 sts; with B, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 5 sts - 14 sc.
Rnd 6: With B, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st; with A, sc in next 4 sts; with B, 2 sc in next st, sc in next 6 sts - 16 sc.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Ears to Body.

TAIL:
With B, make a magic ring.

Rnd 12: * Sc in next 4 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 10 sc.
Rnds 13-15: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 16: * Sc in next 3 sts, sc2tog; rep from * around - 8 sc.
Begin stuffing piece and continue stuffing until piece is complete.
Rnds 17-35: Sc in each st around.
Fasten off, leaving a long yarn tail for sewing Tail to Body.

FINISHING:
Using photograph as a guide & yarn tails still attached to pieces whenever possible, assemble Door Stop as follows:
With C, embroider Eyes between Rnds 30 & 32 & Nose between Rnds 26 & 30.
Flatten Ears, so that A-colored inner ears are centered on front of Ears.
Sew Ears to Body, between Rnds 32 & 38.
Sew Tail to back & side of Body.
Insert whiskers between Rnds 26 & 29.
Weave in yarn ends.
