Bind off very loosely.
FINISHING:
Weave in ends.
BLOCKING:
Let Shawl soak in lukewarm water with a small amount of wool wash for about 15 minutes. Rinse, then lay Shawl onto a towel or blocking mats. Pin to finished measurements and allow to dry.
FRINGE:
Cut strands of yarn about 13in long. For each fringe, fold 1 strand in half. Use crochet hook to draw fold through edge of piece, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. Pull to tighten. Make fringe evenly spaced between fringes formed by long yarn tails along each diagonal edge, and using yarn color matching stripes.
Trim fringe evenly.
STITCH EXPLANATION:
yo (yarn over):
An increase that also creates a small decorative hole (eyelet) in the fabric, worked as follows:
1. Bring yarn to front, between the needles.
2. Take yarn to back, over the right needle. This creates the new st. You are now ready to proceed with the next st. as instructed.
NOTES:
Shawl is worked in one piece from the lower center point upwards.
An increase (an additional yo) is worked at end of every row to shape Shawl.
Yarn color is changed following Stripe Sequence.
When changing yarn color, leave 6in yarn tails for fringe. More fringe is added when Shawl is complete. Ensure that all yarn tails are secured so your sts do not come undone.
Circular needle is used to accommodate sts. Work back and forth in rows on circular needle as if working with straight needles.
