STITCH EXPLANATIONS:
shell (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in indicated st or ch-sp.
V-st (V-stitch) (Dc, ch 2, dc) in indicated st.
Mat is worked in one piece in joined rnds of a circular ripple pattern.
The ripple pattern consists of 12 "points" and 12 "valleys". There is a space at each point and valley. The space at each point is formed by the ch-2 sp of a shell. The space at each valley is formed by skipping 2 sts. As rnds are worked, a shell is worked in the ch-2 sp at each point and 2 sts (1 st on each side of the sp) are skipped at each valley.
Yarn color is changed to form rings of "web". Change yarn color by fastening off old color and joining new color as instructed. To complete the web, cross strands are crocheted across surface of mat from each point to center ring.

MAT:
With A, ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (RS): Ch 3 (counts as dc), work 1 dc in ring; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - you will have 12 dc in this rnd.
Fasten off.
Rnd 2: From RS, draw up a loop of B in any st, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 24 dc.
Rnd 3: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), dc in same st as joining sl st (first V-st made), sk next st, * V-st in next st, sk next st; rep from * around; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 12 V-sts.
Rnd 4: Sl st in first ch-sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same ch-2 sp (first shell made), shell in ch-2 sp of each V-st around; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 12 shells (48 dc and 12 ch-2 sps).
Fasten off.
Rnd 5: From RS, draw up a loop of A in st immediately before any ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), shell in next ch-2 sp, dc in next st, * sk next 2 sts, dc in next st, shell in next ch-2 sp, dc in next st; rep from * to last 2 sts, sk last 2 sts; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 72 dc and 12 ch-2 sps (6 dc between ch-2 sps).
Fasten off.
Rnd 6: From RS, draw up a loop of B in st immediately following any ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in next st, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, shell in next ch-2 sp, * dc in next 2 sts, sk next 2 sts, dc in next 2 sts, shell in next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 96 dc and 12 ch-2 sps (8 dc between ch-2 sps).

Rnd 8: From RS, draw up a loop of A in st immediately following any ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), * dc in each st to 1 st before sp where 2 sts were skipped in previous rnd, sk next 2 sts, dc in each st to next ch-2 sp, shell in ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in top of beg ch-3 - 144 dc and 12 ch-2 sps (12 dc between ch-2 sps).

Rnd 9: With B, rep Rnd 8 - 168 dc and 12 ch-2 sps (14 dc between ch-2 sps).

Rnd 14: From RS, draw up a loop of A in and ch-2 sp, ch 1, * 3 sc in ch-2 sp, sc in each st to 1 st before sp where 2 sts were skipped in previous rnd, sk next 2 sts, sc in each st to next ch-2 sp; rep from * around; join with sl st in first sc - 276 sc (20 sc between 3-sc points).
Fasten off.

FINISHING:
Complete Web.
Draw up a loop of A in center sc of any 3-sc point, working directly across web towards center ring, * ch 4, sl st in ch-2 sp of next rnd; rep from * to Rnd 2, ch 4, sl st around st in Rnd 2 immediately below ch-2 sp just worked into in Rnd 3, ch 4, sl st in center ring. Fasten off.
Rep to work lines from every point to center ring.
Weave in ends.
