SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• LION BRAND® SESAME STREET™ ONE HAT WONDER
• Cookie Monster 1 ball
• LION BRAND® crochet hook size I-9 (5.5 mm)
• LION BRAND® stitch marker
• LION BRAND® large-eyed blunt needle

SIZE:
Circumference About 15 in. (38 cm), will stretch to fit a range of child sizes
Height About 7 1/2 in.  (19 cm)

GAUGE:
14 1/2 half double crochet = about 4 in. (10 cm).
EXACT GAUGE IS NOT ESSENTIAL FOR THIS PROJECT.

DIRECTIONS:

HAT
Leaving a long beginning yarn tail, loosely ch 55.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across – 54 sts.

Note: You'll now work in rounds. Place a marker in last st for beginning of rnd. Move the marker up as each rnd is completed.

Rnd 1: Being careful not to twist sts, sc in first st of Row 1 and each st around – 54 sts.
Rnds 2 and 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: Hdc in each st around.
Repeat Rnd 4 until almost all yarn has been used, or until Hat measures about 7 1/2 in. (19 cm) from beginning.

Last Rnd: (Insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook) around – 27 sts.
Remove marker and fasten off.
Thread yarn tail into blunt needle, then weave needle in and out of remaining sts.
Pull to close top of Hat and knot.

FINISHING:
Thread beginning yarn tail into blunt needle and sew ends of Row 1 together.
Draw ends of elastic tie on Cookie Monster through to inside of Hat, knot elastic to secure.
Weave in yarn ends.
