- Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® #565 Bubbles 1 ball
- Large-eyed blunt needle
- Crochet hook size N-13 (9 mm)
- GAUGE:
- 4 FPsc + 2 rows = 3" (7.5 cm)
- BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.
DIRECTIONS:
STITCH EXPLANATIONSFPsc (Front Post single crochet) Insert hook from front to back then to front again, going around post of indicated st, draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook. Skip top of st behind the FPsc.
sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
sc3tog (sc 3 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) 3 times, yarn and draw through all 4 loops on hook - 2 sts decreased.
NOTES
Necktie is worked back and forth in rows of FPsc.
Tapered ends are worked directly onto short ends of Necktie.
A slit is worked into the first tapered end. Draw second tapered end through the slit to wear the Tie.
NECKTIE
Ch 21.
Row 1 (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across - you will have 20 sc in this row.
Rows 2-6: Ch 1, turn, sk first st, FPsc around each st across, sc in beg ch-1.
Fasten off.
Shape First Tapered End (with slit)
Row 1: From RS, draw up a loop of yarn in corner at beg of one short end of Necktie, ch 1, work 4 sc evenly spaced along short end - 4 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sk first st, sc in next st, sk next st, sc in last st - 2 sc.
Form Front of Slit
Row 3 (RS): Ch 1, turn, working in front loops only, sc in each st across - 2 sc.
Rows 4 and 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Fasten off.
Form Back of Slit
Row 3 (WS): From WS, working in free loops from Row 3, join yarn with sl st in first st, ch 1, sc in each st across - 2 sc.
Rows 4 and 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Do not fasten off.
Rejoin Front and Back of Slit
Row 6 (RS): Ch 1, turn, hold last rows of front and back of slit together; working through both thicknesses, sc in each st across - 2 sc.
Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 8: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each st across - 4 sc.
Row 9: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across - 5 sc.
Rows 10-13: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 14: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next st, sc2tog - 3 sc.
Row 15: Ch 1, turn, sc3tog - 1 sc.
Fasten off.
Shape Second Tapered End
Row 1 (RS): From RS, draw up a loop of yarn in corner at beg of 2nd short end of Necktie, ch 1, work 4 sc evenly spaced along short end - 4 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sk first st, sc in next st, sk next st, sc in last st - 2 sc.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, working in front loops only, sc in each st across - 2 sc.
Rows 4-7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 8: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each st across - 4 sc.
Row 9: Ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first st, sc in each st across - 5 sc.
Rows 10-13: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
Row 14: Ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next st, sc2tog - 3 sc.
Row 15: Ch 1, turn, sc3tog - 1 sc.
Fasten off.
FINISHING:
From RS, join yarn with sl st in edge of Necktie at beg of one tapered end. Sc evenly along outside edge of tapered end.
Rep along edge of 2nd tapered end.
Weave in ends.
