Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick Loveland Headband

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• Lion Brand WOOL-EASE THICK & QUICK Slate 1 ball
• Lion Brand knitting needles size 13 (9 mm)
• Lion Brand cable needle
• Lion Brand large-eyed blunt needle


• SIZE:
• Finished Circumference About 18 in. (45.5 cm), will stretch to fit a range of sizes
• Finished Width About 4 in. (10 cm)


• GAUGE:
• 12 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) over K1, p1 Rib.
• BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

DIRECTIONS:
NOTES:
Headband is worked in one piece in K1, p1 Rib.
At the center of the Headband, you’ll use the cable needle to change the position of the stitches on your needle, making a twist in the center of the Headband.
The ends of the finished Headband are sewn together.

HEADBAND:
Cast on 12 sts.
Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1; rep from * to end of row for K1, p1 Rib.
Row 2: Knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts across.
Rep Row 2 until piece measures about 9 in. (23 cm).
Next row: Slip the first 6 sts onto the cable needle and hold in front of your work, work in rib across the remaining 6 sts, then work in rib across the sts on the cable needle.
Work in rib (by repeating Row 2) over 12 sts until piece measures about 18 in. (45.5 cm) from beginning.
Bind off loosely in rib.
Cut yarn, leaving a long yarn tail.

FINISHING:
With yarn tail threaded into blunt needle, sew cast-on end to bound off end.
Weave in ends.
