NOTE: Use preferred method of applique - machine or hand.
Cut 1: main fabric - 42" wide x 23"
Cuff - 42" wide x 9"
Accent - 42" wide x 2"
Pin or baste RS of cuff to WS of long edge of main fabric.
Press accent piece in half lengthwise.
Pin or baste accent piece to RS of main fabric.
Sew all layers together with a 1/2" seam; press.
Press under 1/2" on long edge of cuff, fold and press cuff over to cover seam on RS.
Edge stitch cuff in place.
Enlarge lizard pattern.
Cut random 1/2" strips from remnants for stripes.
Hint: do not make the stripes perfect; vary the sizes - see photo for reference.
Using preferred method, applique stripes to lizard.
Applique lizard to center front of pillowcase.
Sew pillowcase side and bottom together with a 1/2" seam allowance or a French seam.
To Create a French Seam:
With WS together, sew a 1/4" seam. Turn inside out and press along seam with RS together. Sew a 1/4" seam enclosing raw edge. Turn right side out and press.
