DIRECTIONS:
To find the downloadable pattern click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.- All snowflakes made with Cotton Craft Cord cut into 36" lengths. Fold over each length and attach with a Lark’s Head knot onto ring. Wrap cord around 18" ruler or cardboard. Cut at one end to make consistent 36" lengths.
- Knotting cords are those which are tied in knots. Anchor cords are those that knots are tied around. Fray ends of cord by gently combing through twists. Place T pins in center of board to hold ring secure while knotting. Keep each new addition of knots loose until all are knotted. Tighten when distance between knots is determined while keeping the snowflake flat to the board.
- To wrap bundles of cords lay tail end of cord toward macrame center. Fold a loop of the cord 1/2" past furthest point for wrap. Hold cord secure. Start wrapping at tail end. Final wrap place tail of cord through loop. Gently pull tail, located toward macrame center, until loop and opposite tail lay under wrap. Cut off excess cord.
- When knotting is complete lay snowflake on waxed paper or aluminum foil. Stipple school glue onto both sides of snowflakes. Knots may become loose over time without the addition of glue. Do not add glue to frayed ends of cord.

2mm Split Ring
Alternate cords, two natural, one white. White are anchor cords. Diagonal clove hitch alternating sides: Side natural cord, two clove hitch (four loops) around adjacent white cord. Center natural cord two clove hitch around same white cord. Reverse, repeat to make five small triangles. With center natural cords wrap one clove hitch around two anchor cords. Weave natural cords under and over. Take natural cord closest to ring and wrap two clove hitch around opposite anchor cord. Reverse. Repeat for all cords. Take natural cord furthest from ring and wrap four clove hitch around natural cord end from previous wrap and anchor cord. This will leave an open weave of natural cord inside 6 triangles made of diagonal clove hitch. Cut 3 natural cord @ 15". Wrap 5 times around double anchor cords and knotting cords. Cut ends of cord to 1" from wrap. Apply school glue avoiding cut ends. Let dry
B. Cord, 24 @ .08" diam. (Medium 4), White
1" Key Ring
Take two adjacent cords make 4 square knots. Repeat for 6 sets. Take knotting cords from adjacent knots to be anchor cords for 3 square knots. Repeat for 6 sets. Knotting cords become anchor cords. One square knot, center approximately 1/2" between previous knots. Repeat. Same knotting cords add another square knot with 1" between knots. Tighten knot and slide toward previous knot. Repeat. Same knotting cords add another square knot with 3/4" between knots. Apply school glue. Cut ends of cord 1/2" from final knots.

32mm Split Ring
Tie three rows of alternating square knots. Take two square knots, outer cords become knotting cords all other become anchor cord. Tie one square knot. Repeat. Leave knotting cords free. Tie one square knot. Use knotting cords from previous knot as anchor cords with knotting cords from last square knot at knotting chords. Tie two square knots. Back to adjacent square knot use outer cords as knotting cords, tie one square knot. Repeat. Bundle knotting cord with adjacent cords as anchor cord. Use anchor cord as knotting cord. Tie two square knots. Wrap five bundles of cords with 10 spiral wraps. Apply school glue avoiding cut ends. Cut ends of cord 1" from final knot. Let dry. Fray 1" ends.

24mm, Split Ring
Alternate cords, 2 natural, 2 white. Tie 6 half knots (one half of square knot, creates spiral) each pair of white. Tie 8 half knots each pair of natural. Pair white and natural cords. Use knotting cord of natural and same from adjacent white as anchor cords and anchor cord of natural and same from adjacent white as knotting cords. Tie 7 half knots. Repeat. Use knotting cords for anchor cords and anchor cords as knotting cords (leave slack to center between last knots). Tie 6 half knots for white knotting cord bundles. Tie 8 half knots for natural knotting cord bundles. Apply school glue. Cut ends of cord 1/2" from last knots.

24mm. Split Ring
Groups of four. Center two anchor cords outer two as knotting cords. Tie two square knots. Repeat. Take the two knotting cords from one side of knot and pair with reverse from adjacent knot. Tie one square knot. Repeat. Take anchor cords from original two square knots and one knotting cord and anchor cord from single square knot. Use to tie one square knot. This will alternate between large and small square knots. There should be four bundles of cord. Use each bundle to tie one square knot. Repeat. Divide each bundle in half. Use each half to tie four square knots. Repeat. Use anchor cords as knotting cords and knotting cords as anchors cords to tie one square knot about 3/4" from each row of four square knots. Repeat. Overhand knot ends. Apply school glue. Cut ends 1/2" from last knots.
