SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Bernat® Macrame Yarn, Taupe
  • Bernat® Macrame Yarn, Denim
  • Bernat® Macrame Yarn, Burnt Orange
  • Bernat® Macrame Yarn, Gray Brown
  • Embroidery Thread, White
  • Embroidery Needle
  • 5/8" x 30" Wooden Dowel Rod
  • Wide Tooth Comb
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Choose a color of macrame cord. Cut three pieces 32" long.
  2. Hold the 3 pieces together and fold them in half.
  3. Using the white embroidery thread, tie a knot around all of the cords, leaving a loop at the top of the folded pieces, making sure it will fit on the wood dowel.
  4. Tightly wrap the thread around all of the cords. Continue wrapping until a portion of the cords is covered.
  5. Cut the thread and tie a knot to secure. With an embroidery needle, thread the end of the thread up into the wrapped portion to hide it.
  6. Unravel the ends of the macrame cords and brush them gently with a wide tooth comb.
  7. Continue wrapping cords, varying the length of the wrapped sections. Make enough cords to span the length of the wood dowel.
