Not what I was expecting
This sand dough kit is a great idea but the actual product does not work so well. The sand dough itself is thick and not easy to work with. The plastic machine that is supposed to press the sand dough into the different bowl shapes is cheap. Also when you press the dough into the bowl shape, it sticks to the bowl and is very hard to remove without ruining the shape of the item. The instructions tell you to use plastic wrap to coat the bowl first. Still, that did not really help the issue. My kids were frustrated with this kit.

Cute set
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son and I enjoyed creating sand dough pottery with this kit. The kit comes with 4 different colored sand dough, molds, press, and paint kit. The set was easy to assemble and use. The dough is ready to paint immediately after pressing. Slowing 24-48 hours to completely harden.

Hard to mold
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This started out so promising. Tons of supplies and an ample amount of dough! However, the molding machine is flimsy and unless you create a thin flimsy bowl, plate, or pot. If you use the recommended amount of dough, it’s very hard to press the mold down.

Easy to use
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the product to use with my 3 children ages 4,6 and 8. They had such a great time making and painting their very own potter. I loved that this kit was super easy to use and had almost no mess, unlike trying to use one of the little pottery wheel kits. I'm a little worried about how these will hold up to being handled by the kids, but either way, we had a lot of fun creating these plates and bowls!

Great hands on toy!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love toys and activities that get my son away from the tv and off of his ipad! This Made By Me! Sand Dough Sculpt and Paint kit totally does that! Plus he is able to actually create bowls, flower pots, trinket dishes and use his imagination to create and paint them. It comes with 2 1/2 pounds of sand so enough for lots of projects and tools for finishing and decorating the clay. it also has a press to form the sand to make a perfect bowl or flower pot shape every time and lthere are lots of different paint colors and paint brushes. Just make it , decorate it and let it dry! My son is only limited by his imagination and creativity and hes not playing video games so im very happy!

My kids loved it!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took pottery classes as a kid but at 4 and 6 mine are a little too young. But this project gift is an ideal entry into that world and merges play doh/kinetic sand/painting into a fun filled, albeit messy, experience that helps their creativity!

Good concepts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We plant lots of veggies and flowers in our backyard, so it’s very nice to see something similar in sand dough. The molds are cool, especially the pot and the bowl, kids were amazed that they turned out to be pretty good shapes, just like the real ones. One thing I don’t like about it is that in order to make a good shape you’ll have to be very careful, not push too hard but hard enough to push it all the way down, even for an adult like me, found it a little difficult. Also, the sand dough tends to stick on the plastic molds, so when taking it out, make sure remove them gently. Other than that, it’s a really good concept. The paints and brushes are big plus.
