DIRECTIONS:

To find the downloadable patterns click on the "GET PATTERNS" tab above.
  1. Paint the entire canvas with the light blue paint using the medium paint brush.
  2. Use the wavy line template to trace the pattern onto the canvas with your pencil.
  3. Using your ruler and pencil, make 3" squares horizontal and vertical across the canvas.
  4. Paint every other square with the dark blue paint. Painter's tape can be used for crisp line.
  5. Paint the wavy trim edge with brown paint.
  6. Once the front is dry, flip the canvas over and hold it up to the light. Use the pencil to mark desired magnet placement. Use the grid as a guide or choose a random placement. Use only half the magnets for the back, retaining the others for the front of the canvas.
  7. Use quick grip glue to secure the magnets at each mark.
  8. Use glue to adhere embellishments to the remaining magnets.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Spray a layer of clear spray paint over the pencil markings before painting the grid and border to prevent the pencil from smearing from the paint.
