Felt Heart Wall Hanging

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 1-White birch branch 30"
  • Assorted colored sheets of felt
  • 1-Ball of thin twine
  • 1-Package of animal stuffing
  • 1-Gold fabric marker
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • 1-Pattern of a heart, about 4-6" across
  • Scissors

DIRECTIONS:

  1. To print the patterns, click on the "Download Project PDF" button (above). Enlarge pattern. Using your scissors and the pattern of the heart, cut out 48 hearts — two pieces for each heart for a total of 24 finished hearts.
  2. Cut 4 pieces of thin jute 6' in length.
  3. Tie the strands of jute onto the birch branch about 4" apart.
  4. Attach a heart about every 4-6 inches apart on the strands of twine, 6 hearts per strand.
  5. Starting at the base of each heart, apply a small stream of hot glue and seal another heart onto the first heart sandwiching the twine in between.
  6. Before you close up the heart, stuff it with animal stuffing to give it dimension. Use the glue gun around the rest of the perimeter to seal.
  7. Continuing filling all of the hearts. You will have a total of 24 hearts hanging on the strands of twine.
  8. On one side, outline the hearts using the gold marker to give them interest.
