Marble Splatter Tie Dye Technique

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• T-shirt, White
• Tie Dye, in Desired Colors (3, Have one be darker for splatters)
• Shaving Cream
• Spatula
• Plastic Fork
• Flat & Prepared Work Surface (protected with plastic or vinyl)

DIRECTIONS:

1. Spray shaving cream onto the work surface. Shaving cream should cover and area slightly larger than the t-shirt.
2. Use the spatula to spread out the shaving cream to be about 1" thick like icing.
3. Mix the lighter colored tie dye in the bottles and squirt it onto the Shaving cream in swirling patterns. Use the plastic fork to marbleize the dye.
4. Lay the T-shirt on and lightly, evenly press the shirt into the shaving cream.
5. Wait about 20 minutes and then flip the T-shirt over and press again evenly into the shaving cream. Wait 20 minutes and flip it over again.
6. Let it sit for about 1 hour. Rinse the T-shirt in cold water to remove excess dye and wash as usual.
7. Once the shirt is dry, prepare the darker dye. Use a chip paint brush to splatter on the flecks of the darker color. Let it dry for about 2 hours and then rinse and wash as you would normally.
