SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Rit Dye in Aquamarine
- White Sweatshirt
- Plastic Tub or Bowl (large enough to hold dye and water)
- Rubber Gloves
- Cricut Machine
- White Iron on Vinyl
- Christmas Appliques Iron
DIRECTIONS:
- Pre-wash sweatshirt, rinse and leave wet.
- Fill a large dye container with 3 gallons of very hot tap water.
- Wearing rubber gloves, add 1/4 of the bottle of Rit dye to the water, mixing well.
- Lower the the sweatshirt into the dyebath as high as the lightest color should be. Remove it from dye. If the color is too dark, immediately rinse under running water to remove some of the dye.
- Add another 1/4 of the dye bottle to the dye bath and mix well.
- Lower the sweatshirt into the dye bath again, leaving space from the top of the previous dye portion.
- Remove the sweatshirt from the dyebath. Squeeze out excess dye.
- Add another 1/4 of the dye bottle to the dye bath and mix well.
- Lower the sweatshirt into the dye bath again, leaving space from the top of the previous dye portion. Let the sweatshirt sit in dye bath for 5 minutes.
- Remove the sweatshirt from the dyebath. Squeeze out excess dye.
- Add the last 1/4 of the dye bottle to the dye bath and mix well.
- Lower the sweatshirt into the dye bath again, leaving space from the top of the previous dye portion. Leave the sweatshirt in the dye bath for 10 minutes.
- Remove the sweatshirt from the dyebath. Squeeze out excess dye. Lay out the sweatshirt on a plastic covered surface. Allow to sit for an hour.
- Rinse sweatshirt in cool water until rinse water begins to run clear.
- Wash in warm water with mild detergent, rinse and dry.
- Position the iron on appliques where desired. Iron in place to secure.
- Using the Cricut Design Space, design the phrase Merry Christmas to All in the size and font of your choice.
- Center lettering iron on below appliques and iron in place.
