SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 Cricut® Mug
- Rolls of Infusible Ink in Colors of Your Choice
- Heat Resistant Tape
- 1 Cricut Mug Press
- Air Clay: Red, White, Blue, Black
- Artist Paintbrush
- Scissors
DIRECTIONS:
- To create the brush holders for the mug, mix small amounts of the air clay to match the colors in the designs for the mug. Make them into flat ovals and gently fold over the sides of the mug to make kind of a saddle. Take the paintbrush and press two indents into the colored saddles. This is to keep the paint brushes from rolling off. After you have molded them, gently remove them from the mug and set aside to completely air dry.
- To create the design, upload it into your design space. The files are sized to fit the Cricut mug.
- Make sure you place your infusible ink paper onto the green mat with the ink side face up.
- After cutting it out, using your weeder, pick out the negative areas on the infusible ink paper.
- Place the ink paper sticky side against the mug and use the heat resistant tape to hold it in place.
- Follow the instructions on the mug press to apply your transfer to the mug.
- When you apply the colors to the mug, start with the lightest first and the then also cut to fit the next color onto the mug. Make sure you tape them in place with the heat resistant tape.
- You will have to create this mug in two presses. The black layer will be your second layer to press.
JOANN HACKS:
- Black should also be your last layer to press because it can cover the other layers well.
