Nice but thin
I bought this online and it was not what I expected. It is probably very nice for some who know what they’re shopping for, but I was looking for something a bit more substantial. This is too thin for what I wanted to use it for (unicorn horn 🙂).

Elegantly Whimsical Magic Cape
The metallic shiny lame I bought from Joanns was actually silver (product description reads shiny tissue lame gold/wht). I would recommend this product to anyone for a quality result. It was super easy to work with. I made a classic but whimsical cape, something a Magician would wear. My cape will be worn by our Master of Ceremonies at a local fund-raising event. The theme this year is "The Magic of Books". The floor-length cape fabric, also purchased at Joanns, was a navy sanded satin. Using 'Wonder Under' and its simple iron on applique process, I added siver stars all around the hemline. Wonder Under kept my stars knife-sharp and beautiful, no edge stitching needed! The fact that the lame bonded so perfectly with the satin, the flow of the satin stayed breezy. Afterall, a cape needs to flow. At the neck is a 4" 3-loop frog closure and it's all sewn together with Joanns thread.

A word of caution!
It was very wrinkled when I received it. Since it is not supposed to be ironed I am at a loss. I wanted it for banners at our church, but will have to figure out how to ge rid of the wrinkles before I can use it. Very frustrating!

Gold lame great combo of lightwght flexibility but metallic enough to hold some Voluminous form (not flop & hang heavy). Easy to cut & hand sew gathering in my Jubliee Royal costume skirt. Its warm hue of Metallic gold color Shined nicely. Can’t speak to machine sewing or washing durability, yet.

The fabric is nice but it is not yellow gold as the picture looks. It's a very light shiny gold which is what the item description states, but just be aware that it does not look the same color as in the picture.
