Mini Valentine's Day Donuts

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • 12-Cavity mini donut pan
  • Cooling grid
  • Disposable decorating bags

INGREDIENTS:

  • Mini cake donut recipe
  • 1 Cup confectioners' sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Icing - pink
  • Sugar Pearls - white
  • Nonpareils - white
  • Pearlized Jimmies - white
  • Mini dot matrix icing heart decorations

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Make mini donuts. Prepare donut batter following recipe instructions. Bake and cool mini donuts.
  2. Make glaze. Combine 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 2 tablespoons milk and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined. Divide into three equal portions.
  3. Tint glaze. Using pink icing color, tint one portion light pink and another portion dark pink. Reserve remaining white portion.
  4. Decorate donuts. Prepare two decorating bags with some white and pink glaze. Set aside.
  5. Dip tops of mini donuts into desired glaze.
  6. Cut 1/4" tip in decorating bags prepared with white and pink glaze. Drizzle some donuts with glaze in alternating color. Immediately top with sugar pearls, nonpareils, jimmies and icing decorations. Let set (about 10 to 15 minutes).
