  • Iron
  • Craft paper
  • 1yd Pellon 70 Peltrex Sew-In Ultra Firm interfacing
  • 1/2" wide Velcro®
  • 1yd MLB fabric

DIRECTIONS:
  1. For this project, use pieces 15 & 16 of M6521 to create a visor. Choose the pattern size closest to head measurement.
  2. Shorten the width of the “crown" pattern piece to 3" on un-notched long side. Add 3" to the left side of pattern piece to create an underlap.
  3. Cut 2 crown and 2 brim pieces out of MLB fabric. Cut 1 crown and 2 brim pieces out of interfacing.
  4. With WS of fabric facing interfacing, baste near the edge on all sides to attach interfacing to 1 crown piece and both brim pieces.
  5. Sew brim pieces RS together on curved edge. Trim seam allowance on curved edge to a scant 1/8" and turn RSO. Press edge well and edge-stitch curved edge. Baste unsewn straight edges together.
  6. Sew interfaced crown and brim RS together by matching notches. Trim seam allowance to 1/4" and fold under all unsewn seam allowances on this portion of the crown. Sew un-interfaced crown to interfaced crown RS together on all three unsewn edges opposite of brim. Clip corners and trim seam allowances before turning piece RSO. Press well.
  7. Fold over seam allowance from unsewn edge of lining and hand sew to brim to finish inside of visor.
  8. Edgestitch all four sides of crown to finish.
  9. Sew two 3" strips of “loop" Velcro to underlap of left side of crown. Sew two 3" strips of “hook" Velcro to overlap on right side of crown.
