SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Triangle template
  • Sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Iron
  • Rotary cutter & board or scissors
  • Bias tape, single fold - 4 yards, 1
  • Marking pen, water soluble
  • Water spray bottle
  • Natural canvas, 1/3 yard

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Print template on cardstock or draw triangle - 4" side and two 6" sides. Transfer triangle pattern onto canvas. Draw 17 triangles for each 6' run of bunting. Cut using rotary cutter.
  2. _x000B_For two 6' lengths of bunting, fold length of bias tape in half, cut. Press in half enclosing the raw edges. Fold in the ends 1/4" to finish.

  3. Fold the bias tape in half and mark the center point. Lay out the tape on a flat surface. Center one triangle on the center mark (4" side toward the tape). Lay triangles next to one another from the center triangle down to one end. Mark a dot on the tape to indicate the start of a new triangle. This will give a good approximation for the starting point for triangles, about 1 1/2" from the end of the tape. Reduce the number of triangles to have more tape for hanging.

  4. Sew triangles into the folded bias tape. Use a zigzag stitch to secure the 4" edges of the triangles into the folded bias tape.
  5. Spray with water to remove any markings. The canvas may curl as it dries. Use an iron to press.
