SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 yd neoprene fabric
- 1/4 yd cotton fabric (for bias)
- Basic sewing supplies
- Sewing machine with walking foot
- Wine coozie template (1/4" seam allowance included)
- Wonder Clips, or binder clips (for “pinning")
DIRECTIONS:
- Cut 1 of coozie template on fold, where indicated.
- Cut 100" of 2" wide bias out of cotton fabric (will need to piece together).
- Fold bias in half wrong-sides together with long edges touching and press.
- Starting and ending at points indicated on template, apply bias trim around top handles of wine coozie (unfolded edge of bias to edge of wine coozie). Turn under 1" for a clean finish on each side before stitching. Stitch 1/4" away from raw edge and turn piece to wrong side of coozie. Pin into place and stitch just next to the ditch (on the binding) to catch the fold on the other side. Press well.
- Apply bias to inside of handles following same method, overlapping binding at start/finish point.
- Fold coozie in half, RST. At bottom of, stitch closed the small opening between portions that were cut on the fold.
- Sew sides of coozie, starting just above binding, and ending at portion cut on the fold. Turn piece right side out and press well.
