SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 48"x 60" pieces of fleece: 2
- Scissors
- Ruler or measuring tape
DIRECTIONS:
- Begin by layering the two pieces of fleece with wrong sides together and the right side of the fleece facing out. Trim edges as needed to make sure the two pieces are the same size.
- Using a ruler or measuring tape, measure 2"x 2" squares on each corner and use scissors to cut out squares.
- Use ruler/measuring tape and scissors and begin making 2" long cuts every 1" along the edges of the fleece. Cut through both layers of fleece to make sure the fringes on each layer of fleece line up with one another.
- Once the entire perimeter of the fleece has a fringe, begin taking each individual fringe and loosely folding it in half, then use scissors to cut a small opening in the center of the fold. Each piece of fringe on each of the two layers of fleece should have a small opening in the center.
- Starting from a corner edge, begin poking the fringe piece on the left through the center hole on the fringe on the right. Repeat this process all along the perimeter of the blanket until all fringe is gone and the edges have a braided look.
- On the last fringe, tie the fleece fringe with the other loose fringe together in a double knot and then tuck within the layers of the blanket.
