MEASUREMENTS:
About 106" long, with 31 Stockings spaced about 3" apart.
DIRECTIONS:
Stitch Explanation:sc2tog (sc 2 sts together) (Insert hook in next st and draw up a loop) twice, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook - 1 st decreased.
Notes:
Before beginning, use the 2 colors of Candy Cake yarn to make yarns E, F and G. To do this, cut each of the yarns into sections of color - white, red, and green. The white is color E, red is color F and green is color G.
Banner is made from Mini Stockings attached to a Banner Cord.
We made 15 Knit Stockings and 16 Crochet Stockings - but you can make fewer if you like, or make all the Stockings in knit or all in crochet.
Knit Stockings are worked back and forth in rows from the cuff downwards and then seamed.
Crochet Stockings are worked in rnds from the toe upwards. Yarn color is changed every other row of foot and leg to form stripes. To change yarn color, work last st of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete st. Proceed with new color. When making stripes, do not cut old color until instructed. Carefully carry color not in use along inside of piece.
Cuff, heel, and toe of each Stocking are worked with Tinsel yarn in your choice of yarn color. Leg and foot are worked with Candy Cake yarn in your choice of yarn color(s).
We’ve provided a table of yarn colors to identify most of the color combinations we used - but we strongly suggest using yarn colors of your choice!
Banner Cord is worked separately, with 4 strands of yarn held together. As Cord is made, it is joined to hanging loops of Stockings. If you’d like to make fewer Stockings, just shorten the Cord as needed.
