SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- 1 3/4yds cream fabric
- 1yd yellow print fabric
- 1 5/8yds orange print fabric
- 3yds fabric for backing
- 1/2yd fabric for binding
- Template plastic
- Rotary cutter, ruler & mat
- Basic sewing supplies
- Iron & pressing surface
DIRECTIONS:
- 48"x 60" Quilt.
- Use an accurate 1/4" seam throughout. Read all instructions before cutting.
- Press seams as you sew.
- From template plastic cut template 1 and 2 from cream fabric, cut 4 strips 8"x WOF. Sub-cut into (20) 8"x 8" squares.
- From yellow fabric cut 4 strips 8"x WOF. Sub-cut into (20) 8"x 8" squares.
- Lay the yellow square on top of the cream square, right sides together to make your 20 sets.
- Follow Diagram A for sewing and cutting instructions. You will have 80 half square triangles when you are finished. Trim each to 4 1/2" squares.
- From cream fabric cut 6 strips 4 3/4"x WOF. Use Template 1 as shown in Diagram B. Cut 80 triangles.
- From orange fabric cut (3) 4 1/2" strips x WOF. Sub cut into (20) 4 1/2" squares. Set aside for star centers.
- From orange fabric cut 8" strips 4 3/4"x WOF. Take 4 of the strips and us Template 2 as shown in Diagram C to cut 80 pieces.
- Using the remaining 4 orange strips, flip Template 2 over so you have a mirror image and cut 80 pieces.
- Follow Diagram D when sewing the pieces together.
- Sew units together as shown in Block Layout to make a block. You will have 20 blocks.
- Follow quilt layout to complete your quilt top.
- Sandwich quilt top, batting and backing.
- Quilt stitching in the ditch or as desired.
- Trim and bind the quilt.
