SUPPLIES & TOOLS:
- Canvas fabric for outer mask
- 100% cotton fabric for lining
- Bias tape for ties
- Basic sewing supplies

DIRECTIONS:
- To download pattern click on "Get Patterns" then click on "Download Pattern".
- Cut 2 pattern pieces from canvas adding 1/2" to side seam of each to make channel for bias tape.
- Cut 2 pattern pieces from lining fabric adding 1/2" to side seam of each to make channel for bias tape.
- Match two pieces of canvas fabric right sides together, and sew the outer curve using 3/8" seam allowance.
- Repeat with remaining two pieces of lining fabric.
- Open pieces and press both seam allowances to the right.
- Top stitch down the center seam allowance, about 1/4" from the seam.
- Match front and back pieces right sides together, nesting center front seams.
- Pin and sew around the exterior of the mask, leaving a small opening at the bottom of the mask for turning.
- Turn mask out and press.
- Top stitch edge of mask 1/4" from edge, closing the hole at the bottom in the process.
- Fold both sides to back 1/2" and sew at edge forming a casing.
- Cut one 41" piece of bias tape for tie. Turn under ends and finish.
- Sew along open edge of bias tape to finish edges.
- Thread bias tape through casing on sides of mask with loop on bottom of mask and tie ends towards the top of the mask.
JOANN HACKS:
- Make sure you use a needle suited for heavier fabrics when sewing on canvas.
