SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Sunflower Bush, Toast
  • Mixed Sunflower, 3 Yellow and 3 Orange flowers on each
  • Sunflower Bush, Orange, streaked Orange and Burgundy
  • Sunflower Bush, Toast/Burgundy, 2
  • 18" Grapevine Wreath
  • Multi-Temp Glue Gun
  • Multi-Temp Glue Sticks
  • Decorative Accents
  • Floral Wire, 26 gauge
  • Wire Cutter

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Organize the stems in order from supply list. This will create the Ombre look of the wreath.
  2. Cut all stems to 2" below the flower head. Cut off the leaves on one stem and set aside. The other leaves may not be used.
  3. Attach a hanger. Find a thick portion of the vine that spirals around the wreath. Cut an 18" length of wire. Fold the wire and loop around the vine and some of the thinner vines below. This will keep the hanger from sliding up to the top edge of the wreath. Twist the lengths of wire together and fold back over the original loop. This will create a loop hanger.
  4. Flip the wreath over and insert the flower stems. Start the yellow to the right of the hanger. Work counterclockwise. Place flowers facing in, out and straight-forward in a random order. Keep the colors as separate bands with no additional space between bands. Leave some spaces between flower.
  5. Lift one flower at a time and place glue down into the wreath where the stem will be pressed. Reset the flowers into the glue. Continue around the wreath.
  6. Use the leaves to fill in space. Dry fit prior to gluing in place.
  7. Go around the wreath to open the flower petals. Use a small dot of glue to hold open some of the petals without disturbing the natural curves of the petals.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty and overall simple to make My only complain is that I had a hard time finding the colors I needed in-store, as the tags are not labeled with the colors listed in the instructions. So mine came out a little brighter, but I do like it. I added a little butterfly embellishment as well.
