He liked it but barely lasted two years before quit working. Bulb not replaceable. Waste of money. Love Ott lites but stick to ones with replaceable bulbs. I have had 3 others that have lasted for years and love them

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good sewing light I only marked this lamp down to 4 stars because the instructions tell you to determine which way you want the lamp to face but fail to give the simple instruction to just bend the neck to change its orientation. I would also prefer five color choices rather than the three this lamp has.

HOWEVER...have two monitors on my glass desktop and this BARELY SQUEAKS over the top of the monitor, actually touches the top of it and I can't get enough flexion in it to prevent glare in my eyes. I suppose I could McGyver a solution, like a block between the base of the unit and the clamping mechanism under to get additional height but would prefer if this had a bit more length in the neck so I wouldn't have to just "like" this lamp instead of "love" it.

The clamp is easy to use and 1. takes up a tiny amount of space, and 2. keeps the lamp sturdy so that I don't knock it over. The light controls (on/off, color, and intensity) just take the lightest touch to operate; not a switch or toggle, just a whisper of a touch. The lamp is very flexible to move the direction of the light, but not so flexible that it slumps over, so it is somewhat tight to redirect. And the light itself is great. I use it in my sewing room, and it delivers true lighting when looking at fabrics for quilts; and provides enough light to sew black thread on black fabric at night. Very happy with this lamp, and wish I had somewhere else to put one.

Great lighting, loved it, one stopped working first time out, sent it back for a replacement...used several times for short period...still working but the down button almost never works, thank god I like it on the brightest setting. My sister just pulled hers out to use a second time( too late to send back now) the red light will turn green but no light comes from the lamp. What a bummer. Really disappointed in these Ottlites! Have others that I love, and I so love the idea of this one, but execution sucks!
