I’m a needlepointer and have used an older version of the Ottlite with bulbs and an Ottlite neck magnifier and that setup works well. Got this new version for our vacation home and agree that it is disappointing. It casts a shadow right on my work and the magnifier needs constant adjusting.

I do a lot of hand sewing and crochet from my comfy chair in our family room, and the lighting in that room is terrible. This lamp is a game changer for me, giving me enough light to clearly see what I am working on! I now wonder why I did not buy one sooner!

With this light I can see trues colors and for that really close up need - like threading a needle or picking up the correct color bead with the needle, the magnifier is amazing. Worth every dollar! It was delivered quickly and in great condition from Joann. Didn’t even need to drive to the store!
