Outdoor Cushion and Pillow

SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

• 1yd Outdoor Fabric (for Cushion)
• 2/3yd Fabric, in a Contrasting Color (for Pillow)
• 1/2yd Piping, in a Contrasting Color (for Pillow)
• 1 pkg Piping
• 18" Zipper
• 18" x 18" x 3" Cushion Foam
• 18" Pillow Form
• Sewing Machine
• Basic Sewing Supplies

DIRECTIONS:

OUTDOOR CUSHION:

1. Cut two 19" x 19" pieces for cushion top and back.
2. Cut three 4" x 19" strips for side of cushion.
3. Cut two 3" x 19" pieces for back strip for zipper.
4. Place zipper face down on one back strip and stitch in place.
5. Fold back and press. Top stitch close to zipper teeth.
6. Place opposite part of zipper face down to remaining back piece and stitch in place.
7. Fold back and press. Top stitch close to zipper teeth.
8. Trim the width of strip to 4".
9. Stitch strips together along short ends starting and stopping 1/2" from edge.
10. Stitch strips to top of cushion.
11. Open zipper, stitch strips to bottom of cushion.
12. Turn and insert cushion.

PILLOW:

1. Cut one 19" square.
2. Cut two 13" x 19" pieces for back envelope closing.
3. Cut 2" strips for piping to measure 2 1/4yds.
4. Sew the strips together.
5. Place piping cord into center of strip and fold strip over piping.
6. Using a zipper foot, stitch close to cording.
7. Pin cording to top of pillow and stitch in place.
8. Fold under one long side of each of back pieces and top stitch.
9. Overlap back two pieces to measure 19" square and baste side.
10. With right sides together, pin top to back and stitch around outside.
11. Turn and insert pillow form.
