DIRECTIONS:
- Prepare a well-ventilated area for bleaching and dying: lay your plastic sheet or other covering on the ground outside; or lay in a bathtub with fan on and window open.
- Dampen denim jacket and lay it onto prepared area.
- Wearing rubber gloves and safety glasses, mix 1 cup of bleach into 3 cups of water. Mix with the foam brush. Flick the bleach onto jacket with the foam brush. Turn jacket to the back to continue flicking bleach. Turn back to the front and leave for an hour, checking every 10 minutes to see how the bleach develops, adding any more bleach as needed.
- Leave jacket until some areas are white, then rinse thoroughly in warm water.
- Clean out bleach bucket and fill it with a hydrogen peroxide/water mixture - 1 part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water. Soak the denim jacket in the mixture for 10 minutes to neutralize the bleach and stop it from damaging the fabric over time.
- Rinse with warm water once again and wash the jacket with warm water and laundry detergent. Rinse well again and return the jacket damp to the prepared work site.
- Add water to the Tulip One-Step Dye Bottles, shake, and squirt over your bleached denim jacket. Wrap in your plastic sheet or other covering and let sit for 6 - 8 hours.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water until water runs clear off the jacket and wash with warm water and laundry detergent. Allow to dry.
