Vibrant colors, but major problems
I received a bunch of Iris brand skeins awhile back, and I was floored by how rich the colors are. Unfortunately, as I work with them, I’ve noticed some problems. The floss tangles very easily no matter how gently you handle it, oftentimes between stabbing and pulling the needle. There’s no smooth direction/rough direction, either, so it’s not like I’m going about this the wrong way. Yesterday, I cut a length of floss and tried to separate a strand from the bulk, only to wind up with a massive tangle that took—no exaggeration—over twenty minutes to separate. Only stubbornness kept me from tossing the tangle and cut a new length.
This floss frays easily, which has led many strands to outright break without warning. I’m no DMC snob, but the quality of Iris brand floss is disappointing to say the least.
