Love it.
Love sewing it has lasted a long time.wanting to get another I love it do much. I make tote bags,baby blankets, and lap quilts to sell in my store. I also buy all of my fabric and supplies from Joanne's.

Like a dream! But I need instructions.
I bought this as my first sewing machine, and it’s surpassed all my expectations so far! I went for it because it was one of the few I could find that came with a cover. It’s such a reliable machine, so easy to use, and has been perfect while I’ve been using it to make my wedding dress.
My only complaint is that it doesn’t come with a manual. Sure, I can find it on the Singer website, but I prefer a physical, paper copy. I had to buy one from a third-party site. But having a manual has helped SO much!

Would not buy again
I bought this machine as a birthday present to myself. It worked great for about 5 months. Since then I constantly have problems with the bobbin. It gets all bound up. The motor also strains to wind a bobbin. It slows down about 1/4 of the way through filling the bobbin and slows down to an extremely slow speed. I’ve had it fixed twice and will not spend the money to fix it again.

Singer 7285Q patchwork Machine
I just got my machine and have tried it out. I love the number of stitches that are built in, BUT I am not pleased that when you begin to sew, unless you are holding onto your thread, the fabric is chewed down into the throat plate - THIS IS FRUSTRATING & THE LIGHT IS VERY WEAK.
I am going to be working on my quilt next week and hope that I can figure out these qwerks, if not, I will be very unhappy having to return my machine.

I purchased this machine several years ago and am quite happy with it. I have had a couple of problems but both were taken care of much to my satisfaction. There is a plastic cover that snaps in to the space over the drop in bobbin: it locks in with small plastic snaps and they do break off. I have broken two of them; when ordered the new one, I ordered a couple extras. Perhaps I tend to be a little heavy handed. Now I'll have an extra.

The perfect sewing machine
This sewing machine is perfect! It is simplistic, easy to use, and yet does heavy projects like t-shirt blankets or quilts. Its' rows of variety stitches cover any possible sewing job. I love how quiet it runs too. Bottom line the price is very reasonable.

Great for first time machine quilters
I gave this 5 stars because of the automatic threader. It took me several tries to figure it out, but once I did, I loved it! I am making my first machine quilt, and this machine is making it very easy.
