smocking threads unravel from
Smocking came unraveled
Lesson learned... serge smocked edges before sewing together. My cute white top has to be scrapped before I even got to wear it. Sad.
Not sure if it was my fault or if the threads in the smocking were the issue.

I’m very happy with this smocked fabric. The white is very light and would probably be a bit see through to wear as-is but I purchased white just so I could tie-dye it. The fabric is light and airy, perfect for summer. Also, the length is quite generous and leaves plenty of fabric for me to make straps and hem it to below the knee. Loved it so much I bought about her in a floral print.

Fabric problems
Fabric was not truly white. It had a yellowish tint that i could not remove through laundering or using a Rit color remover. Also, the elastic holding in the smocking had become loose, so after one use of the fabric, some of the smocking was lost.
