SUPPLIES & TOOLS:

  • Color Pour Magic: Nostalgia
  • Color Pour Embellish Flakes: Warm Metallic
  • Color Pour Plastic Drop Cloths
  • Color Pour Non-latex Gloves
  • Two 4"x 5" Pieces of Balsa Wood
  • Jen Hadfield Reaching Out Sticker Book
  • Alphabet Dies
  • Crop A Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch
  • Crop A Dile Corner Chomper
  • Blank Paper (copy paper is fine)
  • Tim Holtz Ideology Mini Book Rings
  • Gold Glitter
  • Plastic Cups

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Round corners of Balsa Wood using the WRMK Crop A Dile Corner Chomper. Set each one on a plastic cup (or anything to hold it up so paint can drip off the sides.)
  2. Pour desired paint colors into a plastic cup, one color at a time. Pour over the wood pieces and encourage paint to cover the whole surface by tilting the wood until it is covered.
  3. While the paint is still wet, sprinkle a fine dusting of gold glitter over each surface. Add foil flakes following the lines of the paint, if desired. Let dry completely.
  4. Cut blank copy paper slightly smaller than the wood covers. Round the corners using the Corner Chomper.
  5. Punch three holes in the covers and the inside pages. Bind them together with Mini Book Rings and embellish the cover as desired.

JOANN HACKS:

  • Before working, put down a plastic drop cloth and wear gloves if desired.
  • If you want more control over where the colors land, try pouring the paint directly onto the surface instead of pouring it from the cup.
