- Detail paintbrushes
DIRECTIONS:
- Read the directions on the WICKS Candle Maker Kit, on a protected work surface place the candle maker machine and as directed fill the heater area with wax.
- Place the wick string into the round mold and place it below the spout.
- Fill the mold with wax and set aside to dry. Read the instructions on dry times because it may vary depending on the size of the candle and how hot the wax is. Do not remove the candle before it is completely dry or it will cause the deform the candle shape.
- You can use one of the cylindrical candle molds from the kit to hold the sphere mold in place while filling with wax. This will help the mold from tipping over while filling and drying.
- To ensure the outside of the candle is smooth, fill the mold with enough wax to coat the outside of the mold. Remove the mold from under the spout and rotate it in your hand moving the wax to coat the mold inside. Once the whole inside is coated, do this a few more times to ensure the outside is smooth and then fill the candle completely with wax.
- Once the candle is completely dry and removed from the mold add floral details to the candle with acrylic paint. If displaying together use similar colors but vary the designs to add interest.
- Be careful not to handle the candles too much after painting or the paint will scratch off.
- CUSTOM COLORS
- Use the wax colors and color chart included in the kit to make custom colors. When using colored wax and making your own colors, make sure you have enough wax to make the entire candle or multiple candles. If not, your colors might not match exactly. A good way to make enough if to fill the heating element with wax and create the custom color, then use the valve to pour the wax into a a silicone dish large enough for the wax you will need. You can use silicone baking dishes or anything silicone that it can be easily removed from.
- Make another batch trying to match the colors. Once it's made, pour that wax with the other wax. Mix together and then remelt them together to pour into your mold. This will ensure the colors are mixed together and to make enough to fill your molds.
- To make coral candles as pictured, mix yellow, red and white together.
